Kaitlyn Kelly-RMT

History
With a kinesiology background and interest in sports medicine, I was drawn to massage therapy as a career due to it's ability to be part of athlete care plans, not only for rehabilitation, but also for injury prevention. My philosophy is that your care should be proactive, not just reactive, and that the best way to elevate your performance is to enhance your recovery in everyday training. My clinical focus of athletic performance and recovery care, paired with my advanced training in sports massage has lead me back to my roots at Laurier where I work in varsity athletics. I have been a trainer for various sports teams in the KW region since 2013, from varsity to semi-pro, currently working in Jr C hockey with the New Hamburg Firebirds.
education
After studying Kinesiology and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in the Faculty of Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, I pursued my massage therapy education and obtained my Diploma of Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology. I look forward to continuing my education and becoming certified in various modalities to best compliment my practice and benefit my clients.

history

I have always had a passion for health, wellness, and helping others which naturally lead me to the medical field. I have a keen interest in the rehabilitation aspect of health care, which flourished while studying Kinesiology. Here I took on the role of student Athletic Therapist where I gained experience in athletic taping, pre and post game care, strength and conditioning, and got to assist many athletes through their rehabilitation programs. Throughout my undergraduate career and beyond I have continued to remain heavily involved in athletics as a trainer for various sports teams in the KW region, mainly hockey and baseball. Seeing the benefits of massage therapy through my athletes inspired me to follow the career path to become an RMT myself.
